This monument marks the site of the Battle of Naseby on 14 June 1645. Naseby was a significant battle in the English Civil, the defeat of King Charles I and the Royalist army effectively weaken the Royalist cause and lead to the eventual defeat of the king. The monument was unveiled in 1936.
