Very eyecatching in shape, colour and position. All clad in red terracotta including a dome crowning the rounded "corner". It was built in 1895-96 for H.B. Sale (whose name can be made out in the carved panel above the second floor window) to the designs of William Doubleday & James R. Shaw. Grade II listed. The upper floors looked empty, but a restaurant, Syriana, occupied the ground floor. According to Wikipedia, H.B. Sale is still going (despite being in the dyeing business) and its current premises (2012) are only about 100 metres away. See also Image
