Stadhampton Mill - gear room/meal floor

A three storey watermill that has been disused since about 1945. It was possible to turn the wheel with a pumped supply but it now looks like it might not have turned for some time. Just to the right of centre one can see the pit wheel and the bottom of the vertical main drive shaft. The drawings on the hurst frame are by the late Wilf Foreman - doyen of Oxfordshire mill historians. There were two sets of underdrift stones on the floor above.
