Actually located in Kirkbymoorside (Victorian railway companies sometimes got the spelling wrong), this station was opened in 1874 by the North Eastern Railway on the line from Gilling to Pickering. It closed to regular passenger traffic in 1953 and completely in 1964. Forecourt and former weighbridge. It was demolished in 2010 and was awaiting redevelopment when this image was taken 3 years later. Compare with Image, taken from the same spot.
