A combination of melting snow and heavy rain turned this normally dry river bed into a raging torrent on this day in February 2009. This is the view looking downstream from the bridge carrying the lane over the watercourse up to North Mymms. Just downstream of the bridge is a drop structure, maybe a metre high, that was totally submerged and has contributed to the turbulence.
