Hughenden Stream drains off from the Hughenden estate into the River Wye. Because of the chalk sub-surface the stream is often dry and here, at the backs of the gardens of the houses in Hughenden Road, serves as a catch channel for all the urban litter that gets blown or dumped into it. The public footpath running south from Hughenden Avenue is off to the right.
