Like the junction at the Image, this junction was once used to turn trolleybuses, although latterly only for occasional short workings; the wiring enabling trolleybuses to turn here was removed in the 1940s. As at Ward Road, more recently the junction has been narrowed, although here the grass verges have at least partially failed to grow.
