Across the road from the former churchyard of St Peter's, Drypool, the Victoria Dock Tavern. Opened by local brewer, Simon Cook, late 1820s, as the Albion, a famous sailing ship of its day. Its name was changed in the 1840s to reflect the construction of Victoria Dock. Good traditional example of a 19th century public house. Opposite the pub is a K8 telephone kiosk, designed by Bruce Martin in 1965. Of some 11,000 installed across the country between 1968 and 1983, it is reported that about 50 survive today, most of which are located within the former Hull Corporation Telephones area.
