Large portraits of Drummer Lee Rigby carried by four girls from Crumpsall, where he was born, marked the start of the fourth annual Manchester Day Parade which organisers dedicated to his memory. Followed by drummers from the soldier's regiment, one spectator said it was a "beautiful tribute" as many were moved to tears (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-22745387 BBC News http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/children-lead-manchester-day-parade-4034767 Manchester Evening News). The parade along Deansgate was watched by tens of thousands of people.
