Set back from the north side of Eign Street. Built in the 1870s, this is the third church on this site. Eignbrook believes that theirs is the oldest non-conformist church (in the sense of a particular organised Christian society, distinguished by features of doctrine, worship, etc) in both the city of Hereford and county of Herefordshire. Eignbrook dates its origins to 1662, at a time of religious turbulence following the Civil War and Restoration. Eignbrook Congregational Church was renamed when it became part of the United Reformed Church of England and Wales in 1972.
