Mostly of 1582, for Thomas Smythe, but the ends of 1761 by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown for Paul Methuen (based on designs by Henry Keene). The Georgian additions are in keeping. Grade I listed. The Methuens were here until fairly recently, and might still be, but the house appears to be used by Bath Spa University. It is regularly open to the public.
