In the 1969 edition of Pevsner's West Kent & Weald, John Newman describes these as "remarkable sculptural low-rise flats ... in white brick with far-projecting staircase ramps". Designed by Derek Sharp Associates. The 1980 edition has, perhaps more accurately, "buff brick". I suppose more correctly these are maisonettes. View from The Avenue.
