Its forlorn state lent it an air of faded grandeur. Pediments abound, which strongly suggests the hand of architect James Paine who had a penchant for them. It was built c1750 for William Radcliffe. Grade II* listed. I'm not sure its condition has improved since the photo was taken, but even so it might have been in use as a storage facility.
