This smart little mollusc (a fingertip gives comparative scale) was ensconced between courses of the limestone wall of Burghley Park beside the Barnack Road, just inside Lincolnshire. It is a grove or brown-lipped snail, Cepaea nemoralis. Many thanks to Cathy Cox for help in identifying the species.
