This is a replica, from Hercules Linton's own drawings, of the figurehead he designed for the famous clipper ship, 'Cutty Sark', named after the character in Robert Burns' poem 'Tam o' Shanter'. Burns' father William Burness (he changed the spelling to Burns) was born in this parish of Glenbervie, where his ancestors had lived for generations.
