Most of the house, including the south front here, is the work of Edward Blore, 1830, but some of the C16th house survives behind. Grade I listed. When living in West Sussex my father would drop dark hints about the murky goings-on at this place - top secret military conferences and the like. While he was probably feeding my imagination, it "has been home to the world renowned Wilton Park conference organisation since 1951, hosting events on key international policy challenges ... created in 1946 to help re-establish peace and democracy in Europe as part of an initiative inspired by Winston Churchill." Nowadays, other types of unions can be forged here, marriages, together with the usual types of other events. The date of the photo is uncertain.
