The main entrance of the Southwell Minster School, a voluntary aided comprehensive school for children aged 8 to 18 years. In December 2011 the School was graded Outstanding by Ofsted, in 30 out of 31 areas, among only 3% of schools in the country. The Minster choir members are taught here. It is one of the few cathedral schools in the state sector and is thus sometimes mistaken for an independent school. This view is from the shared service road that exists for Southwell Leisure Centre and the school.
