Many local people will remember Harold McCauley when they see this picture. He was a local business man and entrepreneur, his picture is displayed at McCauley House in which he was instrumental in bringing about. He donated the land for the building of the nursing home at Camowen Terrace over 20 years ago but died away after that Image] His widow spent her remaining days in this home and passed away at the age of 99 years. He was an elder in Trinity Presbyterian Church and was on the board of Tyrone County Education Committee (now the Western Education and Library Board) I think he must have been on the panel when I was looking for a job in the 1960s - I feel as he is still looking at me! He was chairman of Omagh District Council and it is the same chain of office displayed here Image] - sure he only had a wee loan of it? Doctor McCauley (his brother) had a house and surgery here Image]
