With the former cinema (now a residential conversion known as The Old Cinema") behind the photographer's right shoulder, the twin towers of the Minster are seen at the town centre end of Westgate. This end-of-terrace house with the unusual 'off shot' room at the front of it (perhaps originally a laundry out-house ?) is opposite the junction with Nottingham Road (the A612).
