This is the present Post Office in East Boldre. I've seen a photograph of a bi-plane lodged in the roof of one of the previous Post Offices in the village. Prior to the First World War there was a flying school airfield on Bagshot Moor in front of the village (which is strung out along the road along the edge of Bagshot Moor). There were often 'near misses' where low-flying planes took tiles off the roofs, and this one instance of a crash.
