This handsome building dating from 1771 is A-listed: http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/sc-19982-35-regent-quay-custom-house- . Initially a merchant's mansion overlooking the harbour, the revenue took over in 1892 and moved out in 2006. It now houses general offices. Regent Quay could be a showpiece for the city, but at the moment it faces onto a scruffy dockside with obtrusive security fences.
