This is South Street seen from St. Mary's Church Tower. The large red brick building on the right is the Electric Palace cinema, which has reopened since this picture was taken. The town hall is visible at the top of the street, as is the ugly facade of Boot's the chemist. Coneygar Hill provides the backdrop.
