The Church Hall is situated between the Rectory and St James's Church. Below the large window to the right of the entrance door is the foundation stone, which reads: "To the glory of god and to the advancement of his work in the parish of St James, Sutton, this stone was laid by Mrs. Horace Waterhouse 20th June 1933 ........"
