This is the Prees branch of the Ellesmere Canal (also known as the Shropshire Union Canal). It now leads to a Marina and then stops dead at Waterloo Bridge (SJ497331). It can be traced on the map as far as Quina Brook (SJ523330) but it never reached Prees.
