The memorial stone to the Calvinist Methodists is dated 1749, but I don't know whether it has been there all that time. The inscription reads: "DYMA'R FAN Y SAFAI, Ty Moblen, LLE Y SEFYDLWYD YR EGLWYS, GYNTAF GAN M.C. YN NYFFRYN CLWYD YN 1749". I believe this translates to: "Here is the place where "Moblen House" was standing. The first Church by M(ethodistaeth) C(alvinaidd) was established here in (Llanarmon) Dyffryn Clwyd in 1749". The location of the stone in the field can be seen at Image If any Welsh speakers or scholars wish to amend the translation or add to the story, please let me know.
