Former Coliseum picture-house, now a Wetherspoon's pub ....... the name 'the Electrical Wizard' refers to Sir William Armstrong, Baron Armstrong of Cragside. Sir William founded Armstrong's armaments factory on Scotswood Road in Elswick, Newcastle, of which he made such a success that he later owned many prestigious properties including Bamburgh Castle, and Cragside just outside Rothbury, which was the first house in the world to be lit by hydro-electricity.
