The 'new houses' in the middle of the picture were built a couple of years ago along the line of the Railway. The Station - known as Oughty Bridge - was at the end of the road opposite the large terraced block to the left of the 'Green House' The houses opposite the 'new houses' are much older and would have been built and occupied when the Railway was a thriving concern. Currently a works train occasionally trundles along the line to the Steel Works in Stocksbridge.
