St Mary's Church is above Victoria Promenade, in the West Bank area of Widnes. The church, built in red flecked sandstone, is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building (http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-56062-church-of-st-mary- British Listed Buildings). It is an active Anglican parish church, the foundation stone was laid on 14 May 1908 and the church was opened on 12 November 1910.
