This is the first house in the "modern" style Campbell Road development, which probably dates from the 1960s/early 1970s. This particular house is unusual in that the building line of the dwelling is right up against the public pavement and street. The house, in effect, turns it's rather austere back to the public domain. However, this is probably not solely because of a desire to keep the outside world out. This is the northern elevation of the house. The internal arrangement of the house is probably such that all the habitable rooms are on the other side of the house facing south, thus maximising the light and benefit of a private rear garden.
