For students of residential development there is much in Longniddry to enjoy. The streets and houses are well established and well maintained and thus the ambience and character of each tranche of development is probably close to what the planners and architects had hoped to achieve. These houses are similar to Wimpey designs of the late 1960s. The impression of group cohesion has not been much diminished by the more recent slight variations in window detailing.
