According to Gammie, "The cost of the building amounted to £3485, and it was opened for worship on Sunday, 24th October, 1886, the services being conducted by the Rev. Principal Simon, of Edinburgh, and Dr Cunningham, of Crieff, then Moderator of the Established Church."
