Opened in 1889 by the Great Eastern Railway on its line from Wickford to Southminster, this used to be the junction for Maldon. View east towards North Fambridge and Southminster. The Southminster line curves gently to the right after the station whereas the Maldon line continued straight on. There used to be a much larger station building than the one there now, as well as a second platform to the right.
