Opened in 1840 by the Eastern Counties Railway on its line from London Bishopsgate (now Liverpool Street) to Colchester. View west towards Harold Wood and London. The station had just two platforms until the line was quadrupled in 1933, requiring the substantial retaining wall on the far left.
