A back street pub which has been a pub since at least 1891. It appears under the name of the New Pope Iron Inn in the census of that year. It has been known either under that name or as the Pope Iron Inn until quite recently. Today it is known as the Winning Post and proclaims itself as an Irish pub. The road itself is mixed use with mainly houses on this side, but on the other side there are a large number of industrial and commercial units, as well as some residential accommodation. Image
