Spouthouse Farm dates from the 17th century and was originally an isolated farmhouse. It was a stagecoach stop on the main Stockport to Sheffield Stage Coach route. The three-storey property on the right was originally weavers cottages. In the 1970s the adjacent barn, piggeries and hayloft were converted into residential accommodation. Image
