View SE, towards Spalding and March: ex-GN&GE Joint main line, March - Spalding - Lincoln - Doncaster, at the bridge of the A52 at the site of Donington Road station. The station was closed 11/9/61 (goods 7/12/64), but this formerly important line has remained open, except March - Spalding which was closed 1/11/82, so Peterborough became the southern end. A Civil Engineer's train of ballast is creeping slowly northward with the wagons discharging their loads, headed by Class 31 Diesel No. 31.547. (See also Image]).
