The closed railway from Edinburgh to Perth via Kinross ran through here. Kelty Station was a big junction handling coal traffic from mineral lines from Loch Ore and Halbeath. There were extensive marshalling yards and a colliery in what is now agricultural land. I could see no trace of the railway. There is a car park here serving Loch Ore Country Park.
