The smoothness of the grassland suggests reclamation and this is the site of the Aitkin Pit. A 1950's 1:63360 Ordnance Survey map shows a big colliery here with big buildings and bings linked to the nearby mainline railway. There is a car park here for Loch Ore Country Park and the car park is built on the site of Kelty Station which would have been a busy junction for coal traffic on the main line north from the Forth Bridge to Perth. I noticed no trace of the railway.
