One of a fair number of similar small properties in Church Street. Many (including this one) are timber-framed, the brick facing having been added during the 18th century. This one carries the date 1732, on a tile to the right of the upper 'S'. You can't help wondering how old the timber structure might be. Any answer would probably have to come from dendrological evidence - sampling the timber - rather than from documentation. Even then, earlier habitations may have existed on the same plot, dating back well into medieval times.
