Mitchell & Butler's Springfield brewery was a fine example of a large 19th century brewery dating from 1873 and 1881. It is now just another one of Wolverhampton's burnt out, crumbling ruins. It used to be a fine sight, best appreciated from passing trains, but following closure its decline has been inexorable and the main block closest to the road in now a roofless shell.
