This large solar power installation is one of the earliest in Carmarthenshire. The planning application says this is at the former location of shafts 3 & 4 of Cynheidre Colliery (Cynheidre itself is about 4 Km southwest from here). The documents also name the project "Pont Andrew" but I can not find that name applied to the nearby bridge on any map new or old. The colliery buildings are long gone but their hard, flat floors have been used as platforms for the solar arrays. This was developed in tandem with Image
