Having ascended to the summit of Shooter's Hill the A207 road levels out along this stretch of land in the Eaglesfield Road area before it begins its descent in the direction of central London. The summit of Shooters Hill is said to have supported eagles during the medieval era and without a doubt, Oxleas Wood - on the left - would have been home to even more wild life in the past that it is now.
