Red House, Sevenoaks

Image: © Stephen Richards Taken: Unknown

A good late-C17th house, built for John Couchman of Tooting in 1686. The narrow end bays are typical, depending on your point of view, of either the lack of discipline or charm of this proto-Georgian period. The doorcase is late C18th (Image]). Grade II* listed. Now offices of Knocker & Foskett, solicitors (what else could they be?), who were there at the time of the photo. The date of the picture is uncertain.
