A remarkable house in that its plan is roughly X-shaped. The building history has not been fully eludicated. The central square block dates from c1612 and the wings may be contemporary or they may be nearer 1660. The fabulous roofline is courtesy of Reginald Blomfield, c1924, for Lord Doverdale. Grade I listed. On the far right is part of the simlarly-syled Gatehouse. Grade I listed. The house is now flats. A three-bedroom flat is currently on the market for £795k, and a two-bedroom flat for £225k (March 2013).
