Opened in 1850 on what became the London & North Western Railway's Oxford to Cambridge line via Bedford, this 2-platform station closed in 1968. Between 1954 and 1968 it was known as "Bicester London Road" station. The station was reopened as a single platform by British Rail in 1987 as "Bicester Town". View north east towards Launton and Bedford, although passenger trains went no further than here at the time this image was taken. The station was subsequently demolished as part of the rebuilding of the line in 2014 (see Image) and was replaced by "Bicester Village" station immediately behind the camera position (see Image).
