This building, now used by the Morpeth Mobility scheme, seems to have originally been home to a nursery business - the lintel above the door and ground-floor window reads: "Nursery & - MATHESON - seedsman" and above the little corbel-bearers the date is 1889 ....... I have found a reference to Thomas Matheson, Nurseryman, Morpeth 1883-4, in the National Archive, but this is just a list, and has provided no further information.
