The subject fish is a male kelt salmon; this can be determined by the pronounced bend or kype in the lower jaw. After being landed this fish like six other of his pals was today safely returned to the freedom of the River Spey. The "fly" which this kelt has taken is known as a Cascade Shrimp and is highly rated as a successful lure on most rivers.
