The Shefford Stream, an ephemeral river which appears in this valley only when groundwater levels are exceptionally high, is flowing well this year. The channel you see here is often dry for years on end, but now after a wet summer and a winter of what seemed like non stop rain, the stream is so healthy that it has outgrown the ditch and is going along in the field as well.
