Newton for Hyde railway station

Opened in 1841 by the Sheffield, Ashton-under-Lyne and Manchester Railway (which changed its name to the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway in 1847), this station is now on the truncated Manchester Piccadilly-Glossop line. View south east towards Godley and Glossop. The railway is high above the road here meaning the small entrance building (which is at the end on the right) cannot be seen as it is lower down.
