Image The split A&E Hospital sign is due to the fact that Sheffield has a separate - and extremely good - Children's Hospital which looks after Emergencies for Children of 16 and under. Adults are treated at the Northern General Hospital. A second adult hospital - The Royal Hallamshire - doesn't have an A&E department.
